Africa-Press – Angola. Bombó fuba, spaghetti pasta and horse mackerel are the staple food products that most contributed to the price reduction seen in commercial establishments in Luanda from the second to the third week of the current month.

In commercial establishments, bombó fuba dropped 8.60 percent, spaghetti pasta 5.91% and horse mackerel 5.61%. The biggest price changes were registered in products such as iodized salt, with 5.84 percent, tomatoes (4.60%) and cornmeal (4.06%).

Price changes were seen in supermarkets Intermarket, with 3.49 percent, Angomart, with 3.14%, and Casa dos Frescos, with 2.80%. On the other hand, there was a price reduction in the Maxi store chain, with 8.07%, Fresmart, with 6.69%, and Kero, with 6.12%.

In commercial establishments, the price variation of basic food basket products from the second to the third week of June registered a reduction of 1.67 percent.

In general terms (commercial establishments and informal markets), the prices of basic food products, from the second to the third week of this month, dropped 0.12 percent.

In the informal market, the prices of basic food products had a slight increase of 0.05 percent, influenced by the cost of spaghetti pasta, with 5.08%, of bologna bread, with 3.57 percent, and palm, with 2.87%.

The biggest changes occurred in the Correios markets, with 1.75%, Kifica (1.15%) and Congolese (1.08%). However, it was in the Kwanzas, with 2.61%, Kilómetro Trinta (0.88%) and Kikolo (0.70%) markets where a relative price reduction was noted.
