The provincial commander of the National Police in Huíla announced this Monday that the corporation has in an advanced stage the preparation of the reaction unit, patrolling and ensuring electoral activities, framed as of great importance in the operational coverage of mass events.
Divaldo Martins, said that the unit will, with actions supported by the Rapid Intervention Police (PIR), help to ensure mass political activities, within the scope of the General Elections on 24 August. “The unit is a force that is specially prepared and equipped with equipment to deal with any type of mass demonstration,” explained the commissioner.
He referred that the healthy environment, resulting from the balance between the political actors, demonstrated during the pre-election campaign, suggests that things have everything to go without major upheavals. “Here, in Huíla province, fortunately, we have a very balanced political and social environment, the result of a correct interpretation of what the law is by political parties and social actors, a situation that is helping the police work”, he praised .
He stated that the police will seek, on the basis of balance, to carry out their mission so that everything happens with the desired nature. To this end, he clarified, “the police guarantee that they will be implacable in those situations in which disturbances to public order and tranquility may occur.
The provincial commander of the National Police in Huíla clarified that there has been training, mainly in the field of legislation, so that all those involved in the security process know what the law says, so that they can adapt their actions to the legal parameters. The training, he clarified, is comprehensive, both for managers and intermediaries, as well as for commanders of police stations, municipalities and other personnel, especially those directly linked to the patrolling activity.
Commissioner Divaldo Martins said that the preparation and improvement of the entire assurance process continues to be improved, with a view to success before, during and after the election process. He clarified that, on the one hand, activities are still being carried out and, on the other hand, preparation for what are the final stages of the electoral process.
“For us, within the scope of the attributions, our activity has already started some time ago, either in the phase of the process of updating the data and electoral registration, with ensuring the functioning of the BUAP, or providing assurance to the people who went to these services” , punctual.
