Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 8,604 vulnerable families in the municipality of Nambuangongo, province of Bengo, have benefited, since Thursday, from Social Monetary Transfers (TSM), within the scope of the Program for Strengthening the Social Protection System “Kwenda”.

In Nambuangongo, the Social Support Fund (FAS) registered a total of ten thousand families, in the localities of Gombe (headquarters), Hinda, Kilai, Kimunassala and Sasso, but only 8,356 were selected and already benefit from support from “Kwenda”.

At the ceremony for the delivery of financial values, in the commune of Gombe, the provincial governor of Bengo, Mara Quiosa, underlined that the “Kwenda” is yet another clear proof of the Executive’s commitment and political will to improve the social conditions of needy families from all over the country.

“Use the money well. Follow the example of the localities where beneficiary families are setting up small businesses, and we also have positive experiences of others who buy seeds and small agricultural instruments, increase their production areas within the scope of family farming”, he appealed. .

So far, 15,000 families have been registered in three locations in Bengo, of which a total of 12,739 benefit from financial support from “Kwenda”. , have already received money under the program.

The director of FAS in Bengo, Alexandre Domingos, explained that the “Kwenda” comprises four fundamental components: Social Monetary Transfers; Productive Inclusion; Municipalization of Social Action and the reinforcement of the Single Social Registry, and is valued at US$420 million, of which US$320 million was made available by the World Bank.
