Africa-Press – Angola. The bishop of the Diocese of Caxito, D. Maurício Camuto, appealed for peace among Angolans and for the pacification of spirits, so that everything goes well in the general elections of 24 August.

The Catholic prelate, who was speaking on Sunday, during the pilgrimage to the patron saint of the local parish, Santa Ana, defended that Christians need to pray that God may pour out the spirit of peace and reconciliation, for the good progress of the electoral process.

In the pilgrimage, which took place under the motto “With Santa Ana and the children, 15 years for a synodal church”, the Bishop of Caxito asked for special attention to children and the elderly, two fringes that he considers important for society.

The governor of Bengo, Mara Quiosa, recognized the role played by the Catholic Church in society, mainly in appeasing spirits and promoting actions to rescue moral values, forgiveness and love for others.
