Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Huíla Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Association (AAPCIL), Paulo Gaspar, yesterday, in Lubango, praised the public policies carried out by the Angolan Executive in this legislature, a fact that improves the business environment and pleases entrepreneurs in general.
Paulo Gaspar, who was speaking at the opening of the 29th edition of Expo-Huíla, which runs until Sunday, acknowledged that there is still much to be done, but he also admits that the businessmen of that association believe in the “great” capacity of the Executive to reverse what is still in lack.
According to Paulo Gaspar, the lack of energy and water in quantity and quality, as well as road and rail networks with the capacity to provide outlets for the flow of existing production, are still a concern of the class. He added that the excessive tax burden, deficient or inexistence of the logistic network are other concerns that must be overcome.
“We believe in a better future for all of us, the result of the great effort that the Executive has made not only for the business class, but also for the Angolan nation”, he acknowledged.
Greatness Of Expo-Huíla
Despite some opposing ideas, Expo-Huíla remains the second largest fair in Angola, acknowledged Paulo Gaspar, adding that the event is also the second oldest in the country.
According to him, Expo-Huíla is made by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, where prices are more competitive and lower. Paulo Gaspar explained, on the other hand, that there are many questions about the possible displacement of Expo-Huíla from the premises of the Tourist Complex of Nossa Senhora do Monte due to the lack of space.
In this sense, he said that, together with the Government of the Province of Huíla, a solution has already been found, which will ensure that the event remains in its current location.
“We want to make it very clear that the business class of Huíla does not agree with the change and we thank the governor of the province, Nuno Mahapi Dala, who announced that he has found a solution for the expansion and modernization of the current facilities, without the need for change”, he said. .
30 Years Of AAPCIL
Thirty years after the creation of the Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Association of Huíla (AAPCIL), the class continues with the same problems, lamented the president.
Paulo Gaspar pointed out the delay in the resolution of the Association’s building, whose case has been in court for years.
“Unfortunately, the case has been in court for 14 years and has not been decided. It is a case of saying that justice takes a long time and, in this case, it takes a long time”, he said.
The entrepreneur has been at the forefront of AAPCIL’s destinations for eight years. According to him, over the last 8 years, the AAPCIL leadership has tried to do its best to defend the interests of the class and has not always been understood. He clarified that AAPCIL celebrated in March of this year, 31 years since its foundation. He therefore praised the bravery of the group of businessmen who, at the time, were already thinking about the union that makes strength.
“We were very shocked, we negotiated, we had many victories, but also many defeats”, he acknowledged, adding that the current board is reaching the end of its term and with great regret, as we were unable to solve the main problem of the candidacy, the resolution of our building,” he stressed.
Present at the act was the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, António Francisco de Assis. At the time, Paulo Gaspar recognized the ruler’s honesty and pragmatism.
The provincial governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi Dala, was also present at the opening ceremony of Expo-Huíla 2022, however, given the current political moment of the electoral campaign, he did not comment on this condition.
Expo-Huíla takes place within the framework of the Nossa Senhora do Monte festivities and will take place from the 10th to the 14th, in Lubango.
Exhibitors Contribute To Diversification
The willingness of national companies to do business is a clear demonstration of the contribution of all in the process of diversifying the economy, generating employment, increasing income and contributing to the improvement of the population’s quality of life.
The recognition was expressed by the provincial governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi Dala, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the XXIX edition of Expo – Huíla, which brings together more than 320 exhibitors in Lubango until next Sunday.
The official said that the feeling is positive and congratulated the organization of the event, stressing that the fact is a true way of demonstrating the direction that the country has taken.
“Huíla, in particular, and the country, in general, has everything to grow, where the private sector plays an important role in the direction that is intended to be achieved”, he said.
He assured that the Government will continue to embrace the ideas and initiatives that aim to provide the well-being of all and contribute to the desired development.
Requalification Of The Enclosure
The provincial governor of Huíla announced that the Expo-Huíla venue was included in the delayed requalification program due to Covid-19.
“Unfortunately, we stopped because of Covid-19. We have already carried out some demolitions, there is a project budgeted and committed to start making a fair that responds to the demands of growth and interest of entrepreneurs in participating in the event, which is the largest stock exchange of Values of Southern Angola”.
Nuno Mahapi Dala acknowledged that resources are being well directed and a fair will be held that dignifies the local business community and beyond.
He praised the professionalism of the exhibitors, as well as guaranteed full support to the provincial governor of Huíla.
