Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the National Patriotic Alliance (APN), Quintino Moreira, promised this Thursday, in the city of Cabinda, to materialize the project of connecting this province with the rest of the country by land, through a bridge over the river zaire, in case win the general elections on 24 August.
The politician, who has been visiting the northernmost province of the country since yesterday, as part of the electoral campaign, recalled that the project conceived by the current Executive was never materialised. “For it to stop being mere poetry, the APN will execute it for the benefit of the Angolan people and, in particular, the citizens of the region”, he said.
For the leader of the APN, the land connection between Cabinda and the rest of the country will contribute, in a positive way, to the reduction of travel costs to the region. As an example, he recalled that his trip to Cabinda, including the other members of the delegation, was budgeted at 1,600,000,00 kwanzas, just in round-trip tickets. He therefore reiterated the importance that his party attaches to the project.
The difficulty of the geographical discontinuity of Cabinda must be resolved with the implementation of the referred project, to avoid the high costs of travel.
The activity agenda of the APN leader in Cabinda was turned yesterday in meetings with government, ecclesiastical and traditional authorities. Today, Quintino Moreira travels to the municipality of Buco-Zau, where he will carry out door-to-door mobilization activities. Tomorrow, before his return to Luanda, the APN leader will preside over a mass political rally in the city of Cabinda.
