Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, decreed, this Friday, point tolerance throughout the national territory on August 24, 2022 (General Election Day).
According to a press release from the Civil House of the President of the Republic, the grace period decreed does not cover workers who work in shifts, without prejudice to the requirement that these workers be dismissed for the time necessary to exercise their right to vote, in terms of the legislation in force.
The document justifies: taking into account that that date coincides with a normal working day and that the participation of all voters in this exercise of citizenship and democracy is imperative and indispensable.
“Doubts and omissions resulting from the interpretation and application of this diploma are resolved by the President of the Republic”, reads the statement from the Civil House.
