World Cup preparation: National team improves defensive and offensive tactics

Africa-Press – Angola. The quick transitions from defense to offensive actions mark today, at 8:00 am, the training sessions of the National Football Team for amputees, at Estádio da Cidadela, in Luanda, following the preparation for the dispute of the World Cup, on 30 September to October 10, in the city of Istanbul.

Before, the athletes carry out the warm-up exercises to maintain the physical condition of the group, in a part of the game area. Afterwards, the tests of the tactical schemes follow, with the athletes divided into two groups.

The final part of the preparation is reserved for the marking of set pieces (penalties, frontal and lateral free-kicks, corner kicks and throw-ins with the foot).

Forward Sabino António, who missed training on Wednesday for lack of boots, worked with the team yesterday afternoon, after overcoming the problem. The captain and creative midfielder of the National Team, Hilário Cufula, is on medical rest and should return to work on Monday.

Tomorrow, at 8:00 am, at Cidadela, the National Team will play a control game against 1 de Junho de Viana, for the technical staff to evaluate the behavior of the defensive sector and the effectiveness of the fronts of the world champions.

This will be the first training match with a team of the same “caliber”, after having played some challenges with an academy (with Olympic players) in Luanda.

The National Team, which began its preparations on the 27th of June, in Cidadela, on Monday enters the last week of the microcycle work,before the concentration in Huambo,for the preparation stage.

Next Saturday,the 21st, players and coaches will be released by the Angolan Paralympic Committee (CPA), to comply with civic law (General Elections on the 24th of this month) in their areas of residence.

Yesterday, in the morning, athletes and coaches watched some videos from the past World Cup, played in 2018 in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico.

In the afternoon, the world champions trained, in one of the annexes to the Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro, to correct their movements during the game phases.
