Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Education (MED) will make available, for this academic year, which starts in September, another 15,000 new teachers across the country, of which 7,500 have already completed their processes, announced the minister Luísa Grilo.

The minister presented this data, Friday, in Luanda, during the presentation of the Workshop on the National Consultation Report, to be presented at the Education Transformation Summit at the United Nations.

The Minister of Education explained that, with the completion of the first 7,500 teachers, who began to receive the route guides, after completing their training, the schools receive a great boost in terms of human resources for this year.

Luísa Grilo added that, for the second phase, the conclusion of other processes is planned for 7,500 teachers, who, at the moment, have this dossier under approval by those responsible for the provincial Education Offices.

“We believe that, by the end of this month of August, all teachers will be in the system, with the marching and training guides, so that we do not have problems of lack of teachers”, stressed the minister.

For now, the minister announced that, for the next academic year, the Education sector will have around one million students, from Pre-School to Secondary Education.

Luísa Grilo also spoke about the complementary training project, through “Xilonga”, which is a virtual school that the sector is developing to reinforce the classes that were given on radio and television.

“These lessons will be hosted on the ‘Xilonga’ platform of the Ministry of Education, a kind of virtual school, which will allow greater interaction with teachers”, he explained.
