Africa-Press – Angola. With immense cultural and tourist potential, the province of Bié has been a place of choice for tourists.

After visiting here in 2019, a delegation of tourists from Dutch, South African, French, German, Italian and Danish nationalities, returned to, once again, learn about the tourist, economic, social and cultural potential of the province. do Bié and get to know other places in Angola, namely Moxico, Huambo and Benguela.

The tourists, who were transported on the luxury train “Rovos Rail”, visited landmarks in the city of Cuito, with emphasis on the Espelho d’Água square – commonly known in Bienna society as Jardim da Pouca Vergonha -, the Ombala Ekovongo and the Monumento dos Mártires da Resistência do Cuito Cemetery.

South African tourist and investor Nicolas Scout, who was part of the tourist delegation on his first Rovos Rail trip in 2019, told this newspaper that when it comes to tourism on the African continent, Angola is always part of the route for members of the Rovos entourage, mostly multimillionaires with different interests in Africa, Europe and Asia.

“Angola is a country that I particularly like. Therefore, whenever I can, I come here for a visit. As in South Africa, the objective of tourism here in Angola and in Bié in particular is of great importance for us, who want to bet on this segment, aiming economically at this beautiful country”, affirmed Nicolas Scout.

For him, Bié is one of the destinations in which he intends to invest in the future. According to him, he has advanced contacts with the Bienna authorities, so that, in an estimated time of two years, his tourism company will invest in resorts and hotels in two municipalities.

Nicolas Scout did not give figures for his investment, as he still prefers to keep it a secret, but he assured that the investment process has already passed the exploratory stage.

“It is a process that has already passed the exploratory stage. We have the spaces very well identified in two municipalities in the province of Bié, and as soon as our proposal is definitively approved, we will proceed with a strong investment in the area of tourism”, he pointed out.

The sector was not left out by the various investors who were part of the “Rovos Rail” caravan, who recognized rare potential in Angolan territory.

For the director of the Bié Culture, Tourism and Youth and Sports Office, Nelson Quintas, the tourists’ visit is evaluated positively by men in the province’s commerce and hospitality, who, according to him, consider it to be of great value, if the proposed investments are made. come true.

“The province’s potential delights any tourist. Many members of the Rovos Rail entourage expressed their willingness to invest. Exploratory contacts have been in existence for some time, more specifically since the moment of their first visit, in 2019. If the will expressed by them materialize, the province will surely win”, said Nelson Quintas.

Rovos Rail is a South African company, founded in 1989, which organizes and promotes luxury train tourist trips across the African continent.
