UNITA candidate presents electoral manifesto in Malanje

Africa-Press – Angola. The candidate for President of the Republic by UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, is expected today in Malanje, for the presentation of the electoral manifesto to civil society, militants and party sympathizers.

According to a note, the leader of UNITA is expected around 10 am, and then goes to one of the hotels in Malanje, where he will preside over the act.

Meanwhile, the provincial secretary of UNITA, Mardanês Calunga, yesterday appealed to potential voters to face the General Elections on the 24th of this month with a greater sense of responsibility. The politician, who was speaking at the end of a “vote hunt” campaign in the municipal market of Catepa, defended the need for decision-making when casting the vote.

Mardanês Calunga promised a greater commitment by UNITA in the rehabilitation of secondary and tertiary roads, in case the party wins the elections. He referred that those roads will facilitate the flow of production and attract businessmen interested in investing in the various domains.

The same intention had been expressed by the politician last weekend, in the municipality of Cacuso, 72 kilometers west of the city of Malanje.

He also said that UNITA will work to fight hunger and poverty, as well as improve the living conditions of the populations of Cacuso and Malanje, in general.

Mardanês Calunga also pointed out as priorities the sectors of Education, Health, Agriculture, as well as Energy and Water. Regarding Education, he said that, if there is an alternation in power, his party will increase technical-professional education, with a view to training cadres capable of contributing to the development of the region.

He reiterated the need to create an Inclusive Participatory Government based on social justice. He appealed to UNITA militants to refrain from insulting supporters of other parties, promoting tolerance and concord. He recalled that elections are the feast of democracy and a game in which the best wins.

“The contestants in the General Elections are the political parties, hence the State institutions should only be limited to playing their role”, he recalled.
