Africa-Press – Angola. Angola will start performing organ transplantation from the first quarter of next year, as announced by the Minister of Health, at the end of the Plenary meeting to close the 5th Legislative Session of the IV Legislature of the National Assembly, held on Monday in Luanda.

Sílvia Lutucuta highlighted that, based on the diplomas approved by Parliament, the Health sector will begin to carry out less complex transplants, such as kidney and bone marrow transplants. The Pediatric Hematological Institute, she added, will be the main reference in this type of surgical intervention. “We are creating the technical and human conditions to start the project”, she said.

The minister also announced the start of treatments to carry out “in vitro” fertilization. In the first quarter of next year we will have many innovations in the healthcare sector”, she assured.

For Sílvia Lutucuta, the Health sector had a positive balance in Parliament, with the approval of important laws for the area. “It wasn’t just in the National Assembly. Other legal diplomas were also approved by the Council of Ministers, which represent a gain, especially for the fulfillment of the National Development Plan”, she said.

The Health sector, he added, had many gains in recent years, especially in the area of Human Resources, through the holding of several public tenders, “whose result was the inclusion of more than 33 thousand professionals”.

To complement the admission process for these staff, he revealed, a training program for specialized technicians is in the pipeline.

“We had significant gains in infrastructure, at all levels, from tertiary, to secondary and primary, with infrastructure built, with funds from the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities”, he highlighted.

Bone Marrow Replacement Bone Marrow

transplantation is a type of treatment proposed for some diseases that affect blood cells, such as leukemias and lymphomas, and consists of replacing a diseased or deficient bone marrow with normal bone marrow cells.

This type of treatment is proposed in cases of blood disorders such as severe anemia (which is characterized by the lack of production of blood cells in the bone marrow) and in some types of leukemia (such as cancers that compromise leukocytes).

The process begins with specific compatibility tests, where blood samples from the recipient and the donor are analyzed, seeking the best possible compatibility in order to avoid processes of marrow rejection by the recipient, as well as other complications such as the aggression of donor cells. .

The Kidneys

Kidney transplantation is a treatment option for patients suffering from advanced chronic kidney disease. In kidney transplantation, a healthy kidney from a person, living or deceased, is donated to a patient with advanced chronic renal failure. Through surgery, this kidney is implanted in the patient and begins to perform the functions of filtration and elimination of liquids and toxins.

Kidney transplantation is considered the most complete alternative to replace renal function. The main advantage is a better quality of life, as kidney transplantation guarantees more freedom in the patient’s daily routine.
