Africa-Press – Angola. The Archbishop of Luanda, Archbishop Filomeno Vieira Dias, yesterday advised voters, especially young people, to be civil and refrain from negative behavior, during and after the vote in the General Elections on the 24th of this month.

At the end of a guided tour of the Semba Gallery, in Rangel, the archbishop of Luanda said that he expects “serenity and conscience” from citizens when choosing the candidate, who will lead the country for the next five years years old.

Bishop Filomeno Vieira Dias stressed that this is the only time when potential voters can exercise their citizenship role, freely and consciously choosing the political force that will lead the country.

For this reason, he advises voters to be civil and responsible. In a clear message addressed to the youth, the prelate hopes that voters know how to distinguish “the demagogue from a statesman” and that they do not get carried away by emotions, adding that there is a difference, since the “demagogue is the one who thinks about the next elections, while a statesman is one who is concerned about the future of the next generations”.
