Africa-Press – Angola. Obra Social do Maxinde-ASA and Estrela do Palácio-Desportivo do Maculusso are the matches scheduled for the opening day of the 42nd edition of the National Junior Women’s Handball Championship, referring to Series B.

The competition organized by the Angolan Federation of the sport (FAAND) will take place from the 1st to the 10th of September, at the Palanca Negra Pavilion, in Malanje province. According to the draw held at the FAAND headquarters, via Zoom, the national team has the participation of 13 teams, divided into three series.

In B, the formation of 1º de Agosto A is also included, which is off due to a calendar imperative. Electro do Lobito, 1º de Agosto B, Desportivo Chapesseca and BCA 3 do Namibe complete Serie A, while in C are the teams from Casa Personal do Porto do Lobito, Petro de Luanda, MandjSport and 11 Bravos Moxico.

The eight best qualify for the quarter-finals, the others play the qualifiers from ninth to 13th place in the leaderboard. The provinces of Luanda, with five representatives, Benguela, two, Huambo, Bengo, Huíla, Malanje, Moxico and Namibe, each with a registered team, give the championship a national character.

The technical meeting will take place on the 31st of this month, in the meeting room of the Palanca Negra Pavilion, at 17:00. According to a statement from the handball governing body, athletes born between 2003 and 2004 are eligible to play the national game.

Exceptionally, up to twelve youth athletes may be registered, in a dual category regime. In the case of the use of juvenile athletes, the respective delegations must present medical proof issued by the National Center for Sports Medicine or another institution recognized by the Provincial Health Directorate and the authorization term of the guardian.

1ºde Agosto A is the reigning champion and on the 30th travels to Malanje, with the objective of revalidating the trophy won in Benguela, last year. EG- With the victory, Pequenos Guerreiros managed the result until the final whistle.
