Africa-Press – Angola. The General Tax Administration (AGT) provides an amount of up to 3.5 billion kwanzas for the contracting of inspection, control and coordination services for the execution of public works for the construction, restructuring and modernization of the Border Post of Luvo, in the province of Zaire.

According to the announcement published on the public utility pages of Jornal de Angola, the aforementioned hiring contest is only open to Angolan citizens in an individual or group name.

According to the tender, proposals must contain five percent of the contract value as a guarantee, 100,000 kwanzas for the acquisition of contractual parts and until 28 September this year for the submission of the aforementioned proposals.

In the middle of last year, the General Tax Administration (AGT) announced the investment of 14 billion kwanzas for the modernization of the Luvo Customs Border Post, with the aim of adapting it to the new economic challenges.

According to AGT managers, the goal is to improve the inspection of border trade and facilitate trade between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), similar to what happens in Santa Clara, Cunene.

The official reopening of the common border between Angola and the DRC, with 2,511 kilometers (land and river), which had been closed since March 27, 2022, following the Presidential Decree that established the State of Emergency, within the framework of measures to contain and combat the Covid-19 pandemic, took place last July. There is a high commercial flow through that customs office.
