Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-president of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, congratulated, on Wednesday, the president of the MPLA, João Lourenço, for the victory in the General Elections of 24 August.
“I am sure that his rich political experience and high professionalism will continue to contribute to the effective socio-economic development of the State”, he said. Dmitry Medvedev, who has already held the positions of Prime Minister and President of Russia, noted that relations between the two countries will be further strengthened.
João Lourenço also received congratulations from the President of the Republic of Namibia, Hage Geingob, who considers the re-election to the highest Angolan judiciary fair. In a note, the Namibian statesman hopes that this fact will help the Angolan Government to meet the expectations of the people, regarding the development and social progress of the Nation.
