The president of the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe (CEAST), Dom Manuel Imbamba, urged, this Monday, in Luanda, the politicians to embrace dialogue more, in order to lighten the political burden that he said weighed, in this moment, about Angolan society.

The archbishop of Lunda-Sul, who was speaking to journalists after leaving an audience with the President of the Republic, in the afternoon, said that political parties are very active, practically monopolizing the life of society.

“I am referring exactly to the politicization of social life”, he stressed. Dom Manuel Imbamba, who was accompanied at this audience by the Archbishop of Luanda, Dom Filomeno Vieira Dias, said it was necessary for political leaders to sit at the same table, to dialogue more and help to create a more serene and peaceful social and political environment. of hope.

“Political leaders need to sit down, talk more and help to create a more serene social political environment, more hopeful, more secure, and we don’t live in these suspicions and reluctances that don’t help us to feel good about who we are. called to build”, clarified the prelate, referring that he took the opportunity to ask the Head of State to create a way to alleviate this moment of political burden that society is experiencing.

The president of CEAST stressed that the meeting with the President of the Republic also served to congratulate him on his reappointment for another five-year term and to encourage him to continue with actions that allow the well-being of the populations.
