Speaking to the press, Adalberto Costa Júnior said that the audience basically served to exchange ideas about the main concerns of the Angolan people. “We came to this first meeting to understand, above all, what would be the positioning, vision and perspective of achieving what are the essential wishes of citizens”, he stressed.
The UNITA leader said that, after the conclusion of the electoral process, it is everyone’s obligation to meet the expectations of “more Angola”. “We are at the beginning of a cycle full of challenges”, he said, recalling that the country was updated, referring to the results of the polls. Adalberto Costa Júnior said, in this sense, that the meeting with the President of the Republic represents an indicator that it is possible to have dialogue between the parties.
He added that the common fact in several countries “is that institutions know how to dialogue, regardless of whether they belong to different parties, because we can have, in harmony, the national interest”, highlighted the UNITA leader, for whom “it is always possible to work together on various subjects.
Adalberto Costa Júnior pointed out that the departisanship of institutions is one of the challenges facing the country. “This is a challenge that fundamentally passes through the capacity of the leaders to dialogue”, he stressed, without, however, going into more details.
In his inauguration speech, for this new term, the Head of State, João Lourenço, guaranteed that he will be the President of all and that he will govern for the well-being of Angolans. “I will dedicate all my strength and attention to the permanent search for the best solutions to the country’s main problems”, he underlined.
