Coach Admits Anxiety To Lift The Trophy

Cheto Baptista, coach of the National Football Team for amputees, advanced yesterday, in statements to the press, that the players and technical team are looking forward to lifting the world trophy, for the second time, tomorrow, at 18:00 , in the final of the XVII edition of the championship, at the Galatasaray Nef Stadium, in the city of Istanbul, Turkey.

“We are anxious to revalidate the title, God willing. The penultimate objective of the group, which was to reach the final, has been completed”, said the coach, after the triumph against Haiti, in a game referring to the semi-finals.

Cheto Baptista acknowledged that it was a match against a title contender.

“It was a very difficult game, because it was also one of the candidates for the title. Haiti came with a well-studied lesson to counteract the ambitions of the Angolans, but, fortunately, the victory went to our side”, he highlighted, very emotional, the coach at the end of the challenge.

The opponent’s objective, he said, was to remove the Angolans from the final of the competition. “It wasn’t easy. The 24 teams present in this competition came well prepared with the intention of fighting for the title and dethroning Angola”, stressing that the dream of being in the final was, in the face of a strong opponent, resolved.

“It’s a dream to be in the final, a wish and God wanted it that way. God prepared us to achieve this goal and that was the reason I cried a little”, confessed Cheto Baptista, who also recognized the quality of the opponent.

“Haiti has a strong team. But we worked for three months to overcome our adversaries”, he concluded.
