Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Association of Former Angolan Students in Cuba (Caimaneros) yesterday expressed solidarity with the Cuban people and said that they are carrying out a campaign to collect donations to help them, particularly in this difficult time, caused by the passage of the hurricane. “Ian”.
Agostinho Narciso announced the launch of the campaign to collect donations in favor of Cuba, at a press conference held in Luanda, in which he took the opportunity to ask, in particular, for the donation of non-perishable goods.
The Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Carnaval, said that the Cuban people have a historical symbolism for Angolans, “because they were with us in the most difficult moments of the country, whether in defense, health, medical and drug assistance”.
The donations, he explained, should be made in the media, as a way of supporting and publicizing the campaign as much as possible. Among the places where goods can be delivered, highlighted the Journalists Training Center (Cefojor), in the production centers of TPA, RNA and Angop, until the 28th of this month.
The launch of the campaign, held at Cefojor, was attended by the Cuban diplomatic corps accredited in Angola and by the consultant to the Minister of State and Chief of Staff, António Direito, as well as the national director of Institutional Information and Communication, John Demba.
