Angosat-2 preliminary results rule out failure possibilities

Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication highlighted, in the early hours of this Thursday, after the release of the first preliminary results of Angosat-2, there is “little probability” of failures in the operationalization process of the Angolan satellite.

At a press conference, around 4 am, 1 am in Angola, Mário Oliveira expressed his satisfaction with the achievement of the objective: “We can say, without fear of making mistakes, that the probability of something failing is extremely small and we are satisfied with everything that has been done so far.”

At this moment, he said, regular work is taking place and the satellite is already in operation. He added that tests are being carried out and all telemetric parameters are being verified.

As of this moment, the Funda Center has already entered into its rights and can monitor all the parameters that come from the satellite.

According to the minister, the nominal data and failure probabilities, sent to Earth through the Space Agency Center, indicate that these hypotheses have diminished as time passes.

“All the preliminary telemetry data received so far have already been analyzed by the technical teams”, reinforced Mário Oliveira.

At the meeting to review the first preliminary results with the director general of the Russian Space Agency – Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, the minister stressed that “Angolans are proud of yet another technological achievement that will contribute to the country’s development and Angola’s technological modernization ”.

For Mário Oliveira, this fact will boost the country to be at the forefront of development and also for the provision of quality services in terms of Telecommunications.

For Yuri Borisov, from the data obtained so far, there was no sign that indicated anything wrong, as everything worked naturally. The satellite, he said, was launched to the designated point, the solar panels opened, immediately beginning the orientation process.

The operation process, he added, is lasting and the only guarantee is that this is not the first work carried out by the Russians. “This platform that served as the basis for the satellite has a good flight rating. If anything happens, all warranty obligations are in the corresponding clauses of the contract”, he said.

The Space Agency representative stressed that Russia attaches importance to development and cooperation with Angola, particularly in the space area, which he considered key sectors in constant development and of extreme relevance.
