Africa-Press – Angola. Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) and Portuguese business consultancy Deltagest signed a cooperation agreement that determines the bank of Angola, the trustee of two venture capital funds.

According to the BAI press release, which JA had access to, the two funds Greenfield and Brownfield are already registered with the Capital Markets Commission and will each have a maximum capitalization of 7.5 billion kwanzas, with a total of 600 participation units, with the public subscription phase taking place at this time.

The CEO of DeltaGest Capital, João Saraiva dos Santos, said that the funds are new financial instruments in the Angolan market, whose main objective is to provide its participants with an investment alternative in national currency.

“The same will allow the diversification of portfolios, with increased profitability in assets, through an investment that, due to the enormous impact on social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects, will have positive repercussions on corporate governance in the country”, he maintained.

The manager also said that the institution defined BAI as a depositary, as the bank demonstrated the robustness of its corporate governance processes, when it was the first entity to have its shares admitted to the Debt and Securities Exchange market. Angola (BODIVA).

In the note, the Executive Director of Banco Angolano de Investimentos, Irisolange Verdades, said that “BAI, as the depositary bank of these funds, will guarantee, before the participants and the entire market, strict compliance with the law and applicable regulations in force for this nature of contracts”.

The official also underlined that BAI, as depositary, is making its contribution to the sustained and progressive evolution of the Angolan capital market.
