Africa-Press – Angola. The National Assembly discusses today the composition of the specialized committees, after the conference of the presidents of the parliamentary groups of the MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA and PHA, held on Tuesday, to appoint the members for the respective areas of work.
During the session, to be guided by the President of Parliament, Carolina Cerqueira, the deputies will appreciate, discuss and vote on the draft resolution that creates the working committees of the V Legislature.
The National Assembly will have six working groups, represented in commissions, the 1st being for Constitutional and Legal Affairs, the 2nd for National Security, the 3rd for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Anglo-Saxon Communities.
Golanas Abroad, the 4th, for State Administration and Local Power, and the 5th, for Economy and Finance.
The creation of commissions for Education, Culture, Religious Affairs and Social Communication (6th), for Health, Family, Youth and Sports, Former Combatants and Social Action (7th), for the Environment , Science, Technology, Labor and Social Security (8th), for Mandates, Ethics and Parliamentary Decorum (9th) and Human Rights, Petitions, Claims and Suggestions from Citizens (10th).
The MPLA, the party that won the General Elections last August, with an absolute majority, will head six commissions, namely the first, second, fifth, sixth, ninth and tenth. UNITA, the largest opposition party, takes the leadership of the third, fourth, seventh and eighth commissions.
The standing committees of the National Assembly are specialized working groups with the function of preparing the issues to be submitted to the plenary for consideration.
The deputies will also appreciate, discuss and vote on the draft resolutions that approve the Constitution of the Board of Directors of the National Assembly, Composition of the Board of the Parliamentary Group and the Constitution and Composition of the Standing Committee.
