The third position was occupied by the formation of Escola Macovi A, with 24 points, while 1o de Agosto, with 18, completed the podium.
On balance, secretary general of the Luanda Provincial Chess Association (APXL), and event coordinator, José do Rosário, said that the competition exceeded expectations. “We are very satisfied with the athletes’ commitment, as well as the population’s adhesion”, he highlighted.

The objective, according to José do Rosário, is to continue to promote and spread scientific sport. He also recalled that lovers of the sport praised the initiative for the fact that the competition is aimed at the population of Luanda. “Many knew how to play. According to the secretary general of (APXL) all teams involved in the event qualified for the National Championship, to be played from 3 to 12 December, in Bié province.
The Provincial by teams brought together 75 participants, of both sexes, representing the formations of 1o de Agosto, schools Ditrov, Macovi A, B and Feminino, João Júlio A and B, João Francisco, Cassinge Alfredo, Núcleo Angola Chess, Renascer Estoril, Giga and Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA) A and B.
The first three classified received a cup and medals as a participation prize.
