Africa-Press – Angola. The Government of Moxico analyzed, in the municipality of Camanongue, 52 kilometers from the city of Luena, the execution of projects included in the Public Investment Plan (PIP) in the region.
The meeting led, Thursday (20), by Governor Ernesto Muangala, was based on the presentation of the memorandum of new projects for 2023, the political, economic and social situation of the municipality of Camanongue, preparation of the commemorations of the 47th anniversary of the proclamation of the National Independence and information about the public tender, held recently in the Provincial Government.
Speaking to the press at the end of the session, the director of the Statistics and Planning Office of the Provincial Government, Anito Gouveia, said that, in addition to the ongoing actions, the 326 projects identified reflect the essence of the immediate needs, under the initiative of the Holder of Power. Executive.
He added that the projects to be implemented in the Health, Education, Vocational Training, Road Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Agriculture sectors will be implemented gradually over the next few years, depending on financial availability.
He recalled that, in addition to the asphalting work underway in the Tchifutchi, Santa Rosa, Popular districts and the section that connects the Fuel Pumps to the Sangondo water tank, the plan also covers all municipal seats.
To improve mobility on the main access roads, the construction of National Road 250 is planned, linking Cuito/Luena/Luau, Marco 25/Cazombo, Dala/Saurimo and Lucusse/Lumba Caquengue-Cazombo.
In the coming years, according to Anito Gouveia, the Government intends to requalify the section that connects the communes of Lucusse/Muangai, Luena/Boma and the third phase of requalification of the city of Luena, which covers the paving of the streets of the peripheral neighborhoods, in an extension of 70 kilometers.
He promised to continue the placement of photovoltaic public lighting poles in municipal and communal buildings, the acquisition of 21 2000 KVA generator sets to serve the communities and the construction of more schools and health units.
To ensure quality education, the Government will acquire equipment to equip secondary education laboratories and make greater investment in libraries to facilitate students in research, in addition to the construction of the Polytechnic and Industrial Institutes in Alto-Zambeze and Bundas.
In terms of training young people, the plan foresees the implementation of professional centers in all municipalities, promoting self-employment in the communities and empowering peasants with the construction of agricultural schools in the countryside.
The plan of actions to be carried out also includes the strengthening of water distribution capacity in the peripheral districts of Luena, through the construction of more fountains and community laundries.
In the Housing sector, the director of the Planning Office announced the construction of the second phase of the centrality of Luena, with 2,575 apartments, residential complexes in the communes for administrative staff and the subdivision of 1,000 hectares, for self-construction directed in the municipalities.
The rehabilitation of the irrigation ditches in Luena, Sacassanje, Lúxia, Samaria and the acquisition of tractors, implements, fertilizers and vehicles to support the productive sector are part of the actions in the coming years.
The projects to be implemented in the short, medium and long term also include the construction of community houses, children’s homes, rehabilitation of public buildings within the scope of the Public Investment Program (PIP), and the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities ( PIIM).
During his stay in the municipality of Camanongue, the governor visited the construction works of a school with seven classrooms, the Municipal Command of the National Police and the paving works in the village.
Ernesto Muangala also inaugurated a water distribution system, to serve 300 inhabitants, which includes a laundry and changing rooms.
