Expert considers Statistics a crucial science of development

Africa-Press – Angola. Economist and specialist in statistics Kafuidiko Manuel considered it important to value science, as it is the most important source for the country’s socio-economic development.

The specialist highlighted that Statistics help to place the Government in order to have a real idea of ​​how many and where the country’s citizens are, which makes it easier to outline development policies. Due to this importance, he revealed that the Medium Institute of Economics of Luanda (IMEL) has already trained more than 350 students in the area of ​​Statistics.

Kafuidiko Manuel stressed that the planning of a Nation only works positively with the work of statistics. Therefore, it should be guided by providing reliable data for better planning and contributing to the results of a better quality of life.

It is in this spirit, said the professor, that a group of former IMEL students got together yesterday to celebrate World Statistics Day and promote the culture of the importance of this science in Angola.

The specialists expressed their willingness to work on national statistics in the communities, in order to provide credible data to the Executive, so that there is social development.

The World Statistics Day has been celebrated since 2010, and the United Nations takes advantage of the time to strengthen the need for statistical studies, to leverage the quality of life and the well-being of the population.

Statistics is the science that provides the techniques and methods for the collection and organization of data, analysis and interpretation of results, in order to draw conclusions and assist in decision making.
