Brazil requested, on Friday (21), Angola’s support for the candidacy of Professor Leonardo Brant to the International Court of Justice, whose elections are scheduled for November 4 this year, as well as thanking him for his cordial greetings on the occasion of the celebrations of the Bicentennial of the Independence of the Federative Republic of Brazil, on 7 September.

The information is contained in a communiqué that emerged from a meeting between Esmeralda Bravo Conde da Silva Mendonça, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Angola, and Ambassador Gonçalo de Barros Carvalho e Mello Mourão, special emissary of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Brazil.

The occasion was also used for the two entities to discuss matters of common interest, with particular emphasis on the framework of strengthening cooperation in the most varied areas between the two countries.
