The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, spoke, Tuesday (25), at the plenary session of the XI Parliamentary Assembly of the Countries of the Portuguese-Speaking Community (CPLP), especially dedicated to the free movement of people, goods and services in the Portuguese-speaking world. .
On the occasion, the President of the National Assembly stressed that “the CPLP is to be congratulated, as it is revitalized and ready to pave the way for fundamental changes in the paradigm of the community”.
Carolina Cerqueira reaffirmed the importance of this parliamentary assembly, highlighting the fact that it “directly influences the development of matters related to the activities of the bodies and bodies of the CPLP”.
At the same time, the President of the National Assembly stressed that the CPLP Parliament is increasingly catalysing and influential in the social, cultural and economic development of the communities of the Member States which, despite being geographically distributed across the five continents, are united by Portuguese. , “common language”.
In the afternoon, there was a debate on electoral processes in the CPLP member states, followed by the closing session. On the first day of work of this XI Parliamentary Assembly of the Countries of the Portuguese Speaking Community, which ended yesterday, the president of the National Assembly held a meeting with the Portuguese counterpart, Augusto Santos Silva.
That day was especially filled with meetings of the different commissions, with topics such as Politics, Legislation, Citizenship, Circulation, Economy, Environment, Cooperation, Education, Science and Culture. There were also meetings of the Network of Women Parliamentarians and Young Parliamentarians.
