Africa-Press – Angola. Health authorities announced Monday the recovery of 1,603 patients and 681 new cases.

The figures released by the secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, said that 458 people had been recovered and were living in Luanda, 287 in Cabinda, 223 in Cuanza Norte, 129 in Cuanza Sul, 117 in Zaire, 115 in Lunda Norte, 111 in Moxico, 48 in Biao, 41 in Huambo, 32 in Uíge, 26 in Namibe, 24 in Lunda Sul, 22 in Huíla and 3 in Benguela.

Among the new cases, Mr. Mufinda said that 364 were diagnosed in Luanda, 111 in Bengo, 109 in Cuanza Sul, 30 in Cabinda, 21 in Malanje, 14 in Huambo, 12 in Namibe, 11 in Zaire, 3 in Lunda Norte, 2 in Cuanza Norte, 1 in Bié, 1 in Huila, 1 in Lunda Sul and 1 in Moxico.

The list includes 406 male and 275 female patients whose ages range from 9 months to 79 years.

8,621 samples were processed by RT-PCR, with a daily positivity rate of 7.9 percent.

Angola has 97,263 confirmed cases, of which 6,517 are active, 1,888 have died and 88,858 have been recovered. Of the active cases, four are in critical condition, 26 serious, 49 moderate, 36 light and 6,401 asymptomatic.

In the treatment centres 116 patients are hospitalised, while 76 are serving institutional quarantine.
