The first secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango expressed solidarity yesterday with the difficult situation that the Cuban people are going through in recent days, as a result of the damage caused by Hurricane Ian, with his party donating more than five tons of goods such as rice, pasta, vegetable oil, sugar, salt, beans, soap and used clothes.
José Martins said that the gesture reflects the solidarity that the MPLA has made to alleviate the difficulties of the Cuban people who, in bad and good times, have always been by Angola’s side.
He referred that, in addition to the various goods delivered, the MPLA will provide a vehicle to transport the means to the country’s capital (Luanda), for later shipment to Cuba.
The politician stressed that the donated resources were all collected by MPLA militants in Menongue and in the eight municipalities of Cuando Cubango.
