Africa-Press – Angola. The extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to South Africa and Lesotho, Filomena Delgado, witnessed yesterday the inauguration of the newly elected Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane.
The head of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in South Africa, on behalf of President João Lourenço, expressed her best wishes for health and success to the new Prime Minister.
Filomena Delgado expressed the need to revitalize relations between Angola and the Kingdom of Lesotho in the bilateral and multilateral framework protected by the directives of the Southern African Development Conference (SADC).
Prime Minister Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane won Lesotho’s general election held on 7 October, where his Revolution for Prosperity Party won 38.81% of the votes that entitle him to 56 seats in the Parliament of the Kingdom.
In addition to the ambassador, the Angolan delegation to the investiture included Brigadier José Vieira Dias do Carmo and second secretary Emanuel Nteca.
On behalf of SADC, the inauguration of Prime Minister Ntsokoane Matekane, the presidents of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, of Namibia, Hage Geingob, and of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, were present.
Angola and the Kingdom of Lesotho maintain healthy cooperative relations within the framework of SADC.
