Africa-Press – Angola. The commander-general of the National Police, Arnaldo Manuel Carlos, promised, in Luanda, selfless work to maintain the safety of citizens and public tranquility, respecting the Constitution of the Republic and the Law.
Commissioner-general Arnaldo Manuel Carlos, who was speaking, on Monday, at the ceremony for his presentation to the staff as the new commander-general of the National Police, at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem Higher Institute of Police and Criminal Sciences, said that the main missions of the corporation are well defined in the Magna Law.
In the act, guided by the Minister of the Interior, Eugénio Laborinho, the commander-general of the National Police defended, for the successful accomplishment of the missions, the need to combine the efforts of the effective, which must strive for high levels of professionalism, selflessness, organization and discipline, maintaining a perfect alignment with the bodies of Defense and Security, Justice, churches and society.
Arnaldo Carlos referred that the execution of the missions assigned to the National Police requires that special attention be paid to the effective, particularly with regard to preparation and continuous training.
In order to guarantee compliance with what is established in the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, according to the commander-general of the National Police, it is urgent that in the current context the strict fight against crime, with preventive activity, is configured as a priority.
Commissioner-general Arnaldo Carlos also defended a strong pedagogical aspect in the work of the National Police and the promotion and observance of moral and ethical principles, in order to guarantee the pursuit of missions.
“We must give priority to actions that aim to guarantee peace and tranquility, before, during and after the elections, as well as special attention to the profile of the police, their commitment and impeccable aplomb”, he said.
The Commander General of the National Police promised to work selflessly and with high professionalism, organization and discipline, in the fulfillment of the guarantee of public order and tranquility, in order to correspond to the expectations of the Angolans.
Arnaldo Carlos stressed, in the end, that it is important to have the collaboration of the population with regard to culture of the spirit of denunciation, aiming to contribute to the fight against crime.
