Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State, João Lourenço, congratulated, Monday (31), Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, for the victory in the presidential elections last Sunday, and highlighted the cooperation with Brazil.
In the message, João Lourenço expresses “warm congratulations, on behalf of the Angolan people, of the Executive” and on his own, “on his election to the post of President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, as a result of the General Elections of 30 October 2022” .
President João Lourenço added that the choice for the highest magistracy in Brazil translates, for the Brazilian people, the hope that the Brazilian nation will tread the paths of prosperity based on democratic values, social justice and inclusion. In the letter, João Lourenço says that Angola and Brazil accumulate a recent past of rich memories of bilateral relations that need to be rescued, so he believes in the strengthening of the existing cooperation between the two Governments, in mutual interest.
Finally, the Angolan statesman wishes the President-elect of Brazil his personal well-being and success in the “honorable mission for which he was appointed to perform by choice of the Brazilian people”.
Luís Inácio Lula da Silva won the second round of the General Elections in Brazil with 50.90%, against 49.10%, for candidate Jair Bolsonaro, the outgoing President.
