The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) presented, on Tuesday (25), to the press, in the city of Lobito, Benguela province, a 64-year-old citizen, accused of sexual violation of a 13-year-old granddaughter. The individual, whose name the SIC withheld out of respect for the presumption of innocence, according to the institution’s spokesman in Benguela, Vitorino Kotingo, was detained on Monday.
In the press briefing, SIC also presented a 20-year-old, accused of impregnating a minor under 11 years of age. The crime, according to Vitorino Kotingo, dates from November 2021, but, having evaded the authorities, the presumed author has only now been arrested, pursuant to an arrest warrant, issued by the Public Prosecutor with SIC/Lobito.
In statements to the press, the alleged perpetrator of the pregnancy said, without signs of regret, that he had a “dating relationship” with the child. a penal frame ranging from five to 15 years in prison.
To clarify crimes of unknown authorship, according to Vitorino Kotingo, the corporation carried out, in the last five days, in Lobito, a mega-operation in the Santa Cruz, 27 de Março, Alto Esperança, Luz and Morro da Rádio neighborhoods, which resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals, aged between 19 and 34 years, suspected of involvement in criminal activities.
During the operation, he said, a group of three citizens was dismantled, who carried out armed robberies in the dead of night, in the suburban neighborhoods of the city of Lobito. Among the assets seized are an AKM-type weapon, loaded with 34 rounds of ammunition, a handcrafted pistol, a Hyundai brand vehicle, model IX35, stereos and food products.
