Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Development Bank (BDA) disbursed, between May and November of this year, 42 billion kwanzas, for a total of 1,022 projects, included in the Access to Credit Program (PAC), with the aim of boosting the Support to Production, Diversification of Imports (PRODESI).

These data were presented yesterday, in Luanda, by the Secretary of State for the Economy, Ivan Marques dos Santos, during the meeting with the press, which aimed to present the results obtained with the program to facilitate credit to the Real Economy, which the Executive is taking carried out since 2018.

Financed projects

According to Ivan dos Santos, of the 1,022 projects disbursed by the BDA, the Agriculture sector leads with 407 projects, followed by Trade and Distribution (246), Fisheries (118), Livestock (100), Tourism (77), Industry Transformer (47), Solid and Urban Waste (21), Clothing and Textiles (6).

According to the Secretary of State for the Economy, of the 42 billion kwanzas disbursed, in a total of 1,022 projects, the province of Luanda leads with 12 billion, Benguela (3 billion), Uíge (2.6 billion), Bengo (2.5 billion), Huíla (2.2 billion), Cuanza-Sul (2.2 billion), Huambo (1.8 billion), Cuanza-Norte (1.7 billion) and Cuando Cubango (1.7 billion).

He added that the province of Cunene has 1.7 billion kwanzas in financed projects, Bie (1.6 billion), Malanje (1.6 billion), Cabinda (1.1 billion), Zaire (1. million), Lunda-Norte (952 million), Namibe (905 million), Moxico (750 million) and Lunda-Sul (545 million).

Approved

During the period under review, according to Ivan dos Santos, the BDA approved 1,758 projects, valued at 68 billion kwanzas.

According to the official , of the approved projects, the Agriculture sector has 722 projects, Commerce and Distribution (455), Livestock (157), Fisheries (152), Tourism (152), Manufacturing Industry (81), Solid and Urban Waste (31), Clothing and Textiles (8).

According to Ivan Marques dos Santos, in addition to the 1,022 projects already disbursed, 736 are awaiting funds to be financed, out of a total of 3,359 already concluded, 2,057 already sent to the BDA and 1,302 projects that are in the portfolio of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.

Development

Within the framework of the National Development Plan 2018/2022, the Ministry of Economy and Planning reached a target of 630 cooperatives, when initially 470 were planned.

In the business sector, a target of 2,365 companies was reached, against the 1,514 previously defined, which makes a total of 2,995 projects.

“The evolution of the numbers presented in the framework of the access to credit program (PAC), clearly illustrate the new paradigm that is being led by the holder of the executive power, based on the diversification of the economy, with a focus on the agriculture sector, as engine for boosting the national economy”, he said.

He pointed out that, despite the data showing positive indicators, the Ministry of Economy and Planning is still not satisfied with the figures presented during the meeting.

“We will continue to work so that these numbers improve quantitatively and qualitatively in favor of the diversification of the country’s economy”, he concluded.

Expo “Made in Angola” is presented tomorrow

The Ministry of Economy and Planning presents tomorrow, Thursday, in Luanda, the date of the holding, this year, of the 1st edition of the Expo “Made in Angola”, which aims to promote national production, within the framework of the Executive’s policy of diversification of the national economy.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, to which Jornal de Angola had access, the Expo Feito em Angola, is an event that will have an annual periodicity, and from this year, it enters the agenda of national producers and consumers.

The idea of ​​holding the Expo Feito in Angola is to give visibility to local production, with the aim of increasing its access to the domestic market.

During the announcement of the date of the Expo Feito em Angola, to be given by the Secretary of State for the economy, Ivan Marques dos Santos, the criteria for participation of exhibitors and the role of INAPEM during the event will be presented.

The event, which takes place in the Carlos Rocha “Dilolwa” press room, will be attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, INAPEM, João Nkosi, and the CEO of Grupo Eventos Arena, Bruno Albernaz.
