Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, returned this Thursday afternoon to Luanda, after participating, on behalf of the Head of State, João Lourenço, at COP27, which takes place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. .
In her speech on Wednesday, Esperança da Costa considered the balance of Angola’s participation in COP27 to be positive, insofar as the country stressed its ideas and its position on the challenges of climate change, in alignment with the African group. .
During the United Nations climate conference and its parallel events, the Vice-President reiterated Angola’s solidarity with the other nations that are adapting to the plan of resilience, forest conservation, mitigation projects and reduction of carbon emission.
However, Esperança da Costa stressed that such issues will only be resolved with the introduction of clean energies, such as photovoltaics and wind energy.
Angola also stressed its position aimed at identifying lasting solutions to reverse the impact of climate change”, through, among other measures, the production of green hydrogen.
At the diplomatic level, the Vice-President highlighted the country’s commitment to working so that sustainable development and diversification of the economy are ensured, in strict respect of the commitments assumed in the field of climate change.
