Africa-Press – Angola. The ministers of Foreign Affairs of the European Union, meeting this Monday in Brussels, welcomed the diplomatic work that Angola has developed with a view to peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), said the Portuguese minister João Cravinho.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, the head of Portuguese diplomacy pointed out that one of the topics discussed by the 27 was “the situation in the Great Lakes”, where “a humanitarian catastrophe” is currently being experienced, with “literally millions of deaths over the course of of recent years”.
João Cravinho also noted that “there is a peace process, a political dialogue that is being mediated by Angola, between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo”, which the European Union supports.
