Africa-Press – Angola. The variation in prices of basic basket products from the second to the third week of November recorded an increase of 0.44 percent, with emphasis on tomatoes, which rose by 12.06 percent.
The price bulletin for basic basket products for the third week of November 2022 in the province of Luanda, which Jornal de Angola had access to, indicates that in general terms, in commercial establishments, price changes for basic basket products from the second to the third week of November there was an increase of 0.76 percent.
In addition to tomatoes, the products that contributed to this price increase were mackerel fish with 4.98 percent and regular rice with 4.74.
On the other hand, the biggest price reductions were registered in chicken leg products with 2.37 percent, cooking oil soy (2.11) and beans (2.06).
Major Variations
In the reference period, the biggest price variations were observed in the Martal supermarkets with 5.94 percent, Maxi (5.09) and Shoprite (1.29). On the other hand, the biggest price reductions were registered at Casa dos Frescos with 1.34 percent, Jumbo (0.30) and Fresmart (0.28).
Informal markets
The prices of basic basket products in informal markets from the second to the third week of November recorded an increase of 0.08 percent.
The products that most contributed to this price increase were tomatoes with 10.37 percent, iodized salt (2.51) and regular rice (2.16).
The biggest price changes in the reference period were recorded in the Congolese markets with 0.53 percent, Kwanzas (0.43) and Asa Branca (0.34).
On the other hand, price reductions were observed in Kikolo with 0.72 percent and KM 30 (0.39).
