Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor Fernandes, is in Vienna, Austria, to participate in the 50th session of the Council of the United Nations Organization for Industrial Development (UNIDO), an event in which Angola will present documents on the achievement of the goals of industry, as well as strategies for the integration of gender empowerment actions, especially in rural areas.
Angola is participating in the event at a time when it already has an Industrial Development Plan (PDIA) 2025, presented in 2021, and is budgeted at US$120 million, 66 percent of which for public investment expenditure (DIP) and 34 percent allocated to development support expenses (DAD), within the framework of attracting private investors and increasing national production.
With four axes of intervention, the PDIA-2025 establishes concrete actions to be implemented, in the short and medium term, to increase national and foreign investment in the industrial sector, in addition to defining an institutional and financing framework that enables its implementation in the 18 provinces.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce that had access to, the event takes place from the 21st to the 23rd of this month of November, and is reviewing aspects of the impact of inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
UNIDO is the specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to promoting and accelerating industrial, economic and sustainable development, supporting countries to industrialize.
