Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, travels this Sunday to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, where she will participate from the 5th to the 11th of this month, in the 52nd Plenary Assembly of the SADC Parliamentary Forum.
Among other objectives, the meeting will promote inter-parliamentary cooperation, diplomacy and solidarity among SADC member parliaments and celebrate the identity of this body.
The Plenary Session to be held in the Congolese capital, at the People’s Palace, seat of the Congolese Parliament, will address the Role of Parliaments in Reinforcing Peace and Security in the Southern African Development Community Region, and will bring together the 16 member countries of the SADC PF.
The Angolan delegation, headed by the President of the National Assembly, also includes MPs Pedro Sebastião, Ruth Adriano Mendes (President of the 2nd CTE), Domingos Mussokola, Clarisse Kaputo and Agostinho Van-Dúnem, respectively .
The Parliamentary Forum of the Southern African Development Community (SADC FP) was created in 1997 in accordance with Article 9 of the SADC Treaty as an autonomous institution.
