Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, left Luanda this Sunday morning, heading for Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, where she will participate from the 5th to the 11th of this month, in the 52nd Plenary Assembly of the SADC Parliamentary Forum.

Speaking to the press, before departure, Carolina Cerqueira advanced that issues related to peace, security and stability of countries in the SADC region will be on the table for discussion.

“Certainly we will pay particular attention to the situation in northern Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo, whose conflict has endangered peace in the region and brought a large displacement of refugees”, underlined the president of the National Assembly.

The forum will, among other objectives, promote inter-parliamentary cooperation, diplomacy and solidarity among SADC member parliaments and celebrate the identity of this body.
