Africa-Press – Angola. Lawyer Sérgio Raimundo defended, in Lubango, Huíla province, the need for all Justice operators to be involved in the elaboration of the reform of the sector in Angola, with a structured program that translates into good for the citizen and produces more speed.
Sérgio Raimundo made this assessment in a lecture, Friday, on “The Reform of Justice in Angola”, addressed to members of the National Council of the Angolan Bar Association, judges and attorneys from the common and military courts, teachers and students of the Right.
The event was an initiative of the Provincial Council of the Angolan Bar Association of Huíla and the Center for Studies of the OAA, which aimed to discuss the “great transformations”, advances and setbacks in the Reform of Criminal, Fiscal and Administrative Justice.
According to the lawyer, cited by Angop, it is necessary that all Justice operators know what they are going to do in the Justice Reform, a subject that at the moment this fringe does not know, a fact that prevents them from carrying out investigations or controlling the fulfillment of the obligations of the Reform Commission.
“It is essential that each one of us feels and becomes a participant in the process, through previous discussions, which will give rise to the elaboration of this program”, he said. Minor criminal age, for example, is not just a legal problem, it is multidisciplinary, so other scientific knowledge, anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists need to be called, depending on each specific topic and taking into account the contexts.
For the constitution of this Reform Commission, he continued, it should be taken into account that the nature of the problems that are solved at the level of the Law are not only legal.
For lawyer Sérgio Raimundo, the approved Angolan laws must reflect the cultural reality of the people and not continue to be authentic copies of laws from countries that have nothing to do with the local reality.
