Africa-Press – Angola. The winner of the Unitel -Estrelas ao Palco da ZAP/Viva imitation contest, Christa Manuel, 20 years old, is working on composing songs of her own for the launch of the first original single, in 2023 by the promoter LS Republican.
The new star of Angolan music, from Huíla, won Saturday, the musical talent contest called Unitel-Estrelas ao Palco da ZAP/Viva, when interpreting the song of the Angolan singer, Edmázia Mayembe, entitled “If I knew”.
After arriving from the capital city, Crista Manuel said that the CD, whose title, recording and release date is still premature, will contain six musical tracks and an equal number of video clips.
He revealed that the recording of the songs will be the first step to be taken with the participation of national artists still under study and later work on the video clips, whose chosen locations are Huíla and Luanda, with a view to increasingly disseminating and internationalizing the culture and tourism in Angola.
He stated that the songs will all be recorded in Portuguese, in a first phase and later bet on other languages.
“The recording and dissemination of video clips will allow international tourists to invest, in a big way, in the culture and tourism sector and in this way contribute to the generation of more jobs for young people”, he said.
Born in Lubango, Christa Manuel is a 3rd year student of the Science of Education course at the Instituto Superior Politécnico Independente (ISPI).
She started singing at the age of 11, when she was imitating songs by singers such as Celma Ribas, Anna Joice, Pérola and Ary, female artists who inspired her as a singer in the SOS children’s home where she was welcomed since the five years.
At the age of 13, she evolved in the church of the União das Igrejas Evangélicas de Angola (UIEA), in a choral group where she was highlighted as a chorister, but entered the recording studios for the first time at the age of 16.
Before leaving for Luanda, Crista Manuel, participated in a gospel music contest called “Excellence Interpreter, held on the 23rd of March last.
It is the first time that Huíla has won a competition of this nature, and in 2022, the group Barulho do Semba, ranked third.
