Lieutenant General Dinis Segunda Lucama said that, despite the economic and financial difficulties, aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic, the troops from the Central Military Region managed to overcome them with determination, courage and high deontology, focused on promoting national unity.
He declared that the “invaluable contribution and example of the troops” allowed catapulting this military zone onto the path of balanced and harmonious development.
He referred that the soldiers knew how to place, at the right time, their differences, converging on a common ideal of brotherhood and reciprocal respect, a fact that constitutes, in itself, an example worthy of particular reference.
The lieutenant general recognized that important steps had been taken in the implementation of the rebuilding program within the new philosophy of military organization, with very satisfactory results towards a promising future.
He said that the Central Military Region Command paid special attention this year to personnel, from military, patriotic, legal, civic, moral and health education, as well as the creation of minimum living and quartering conditions.
The military official underlined that these factors constitute the essential foundations for the formation of the feeling of love for the Fatherland, the spirit of unity and national reconciliation, as well as the unbreakable will to always serve Angola.
He said that the actions carried out constitute, without a shadow of a doubt, the pragmatic result of the conscious and responsible participation of all the officers, sergeants, soldiers and civilian workers of the Central Military Region, who consented to enormous sacrifices in favor of the good name of the military institution.
New challenges
The general officer highlighted as perspectives, the development of initiatives that can guarantee the raising of the quality of life of the herd, from the improvement of the food diet, the quarters, the working conditions, the granting of disciplinary licenses and the correspondence with the relatives.
With these recommended actions, he added, trust and rapprochement will be cemented, between the different levels in the fulfillment of military duty.
He pointed out that the Army has been consolidating structures within the frameworks defined by the Constitution of the Republic and by the Law, as one of the branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) that brings together citizens of all ethnolinguistic, cultural and social origins, constituting a authentic nursery of national unity and reconciliation.
He reaffirmed that the military, as the moral reserve of society, must always be resilient and altruistic in solving problems, as instructed by the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the FAA, João Lourenço.
He encouraged the troop to maintain firmness, unity and cohesion as always, so that, as in the past, the Central Military Region may be in a position to fully comply with all tasks and missions defined by superiors.
