Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial commander of the National Police (PN) in Cunene, Commissioner António Ribeiro, reaffirmed the increase in proximity policing in the region, with a view to intensifying the prevention of criminal actions.
When speaking of the swearing in of PN delegates and municipal commanders, António Ribeiro considered it imperative that each chief monitor the activities of the sector within the framework of the Law.
On the occasion, the commissioner demanded greater rigor, professionalism and discipline from the corporation’s staff, in favor of security and public order.
“The guarantee of the maintenance of public order and tranquility and the increase of the population’s feeling of confidence requires from the effectives responsibility and fulfillment of the defined goals”, he stressed.
The commissioner said that although the crime situation in the region is stable, there is a need to fine-tune the mechanisms of action, given the evolution in the way criminals act.
António Ribeiro highlighted the need for greater collaboration with the authorities of traditional and ecclesiastical power, in denouncing the alleged perpetrators of crimes.
During the act, the municipal delegates from the interior of Cuanhama, superintendent Lourenço Alexandre, from Namacunde, superintendent Maria Epalanga, and from Ombadja, superintendent Bernardino de Jesus.
Superintendents Denilson Baptista were also sworn in, as interior delegate in the municipality of Cahama, superintendent José Samba, for Curoca, and inspector Joana Gaudêncio Sebastião for Cuvelai.
Fire inspector Carlos Ndala was sworn in as head of the Civil Protection and Fire Service detachment in Otshijau (Cahama).
