Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, this Saturday guided contractors to commit, in 2023, to completing the 55 projects included in the Integrated Plan of Intervention for Municipalities (PIIM).
Within the scope of the PIIM, Cunene province was contemplated with 124 projects, of which 61 have already been completed, leaving 55, which focus on the sectors of education, health, communication routes, water, energy, basic sanitation, among others.
Most of the works are in the finishing phase in the municipalities, with emphasis on schools, health centers and posts, residences for teachers and nurses, road rehabilitation and extension of electricity lines.
Speaking at a meeting with contractors, the governor said there was a need for them to work seriously to deliver the works being carried out, as the beneficiaries in the communities needed them.
He stated that basic social infrastructures should be made available to the population as soon as possible, to guarantee the provision of services and local development.
He guaranteed that the Executive’s priority, for the 2022/2027 term, is to work in a targeted way towards improving social conditions and the well-being of citizens.
The province of Cunene has one million, 121 thousand and 748 inhabitants, spread over the six municipalities.
