Africa-Press – Angola. The mixed paralympic basketball team in the province of Lunda Sul benefited Friday, from 12 wheelchairs, press learned from the institution supplying the said material.

The donation results from the social responsibility of the company “Labocheck”, dedicated to the health area.

According to the director of the Labocheck medical center, Aníbal Janota, the chairs were imported from Brazil and offer good resistance, ensuring that they can serve the beneficiaries for many years.

In turn, the president of the Provincial Adapted Sports Association, Paula Martins, said that the gesture comes at a unique moment, as there is a serious shortage of wheelchairs in the province, hence congratulating the initiative of the company Labocheck.

“For us, a wheelchair, in addition to facilitating the movement of the person, also guarantees more dignity and promotes their inclusion in society”, he said.

He explained that many associates are students, employees and traders and have difficulties in attending schools or carrying out their activities with dignity.

Already, the captain of the team, Enoque Grego, 40 years old, resident in the Sassamba neighborhood, was satisfied with the gesture and said that he has been using the same chair for 12 years, and that it is in poor condition.

“Now, with the new chair, it will help you to get around the service and other spaces in the district without any constraint”, he emphasized.

The Provincial Association of Paralympics in Lunda Sul controls 80 athletes, distributed in different modalities.
