Africa-Press – Angola. Friar Zé Paulo advised, this Sunday, in Luanda, all believers to avoid the immediacy of obtaining things and try to listen more to the word of God to find the best way.

The religious said these words during the homily, in the act of celebrating Thanksgiving for the 30th anniversary of priestly ordination and the 60th anniversary of Canon Antero João Beji dos Reis.

Friar Zé paulo said it was necessary for people to work for the consecration of faith, through the evangelization of the spirit, thus leaving immediacy.

He defended the need to reinforce reconciliation, forgiveness and love of neighbor within families.

There must be, he said, more respect for people, especially for the elderly, due to the years and teachings they carry, stressing that “if people follow the word of God they will be more fraternal and united.

He also highlighted the importance of Christians accepting the Christian life, that is, from childhood to death, as well as recognizing Jesus Christ as the savior.

On his turn, Canon Antero dos Reis, at the time of commemoration, thanked everyone for their presence for celebrating his birthday and stressed that he has prioritized not drawing attention to himself, but to God, and that the cross is his symbol , the church his home and the vocation his family.

He also stressed that he has sought to help people recognize the voice of God and help those who need his presence and the word, celebrating life and also death, “perceiving death in the midst of life and life in the midst of death”. .

The said thanksgiving was attended by assistants from the Executive Branch and the MPLA vice-president, Luísa Damião, who, speaking to the press, reiterated the need for Angolans to work to develop their country.

We should not only criticize, he added, but also praise everything that is good for the benefit of the country, highlighting several achievements that should be praised, such as the achievement of national independence and peace.

“Angolans must unite and embrace this battle for development in order to have a country that can make everyone proud in the future”, he reinforced.

The church, he observed, is a solid partner of the government, not only in the evangelization of society, and moralization, but also in actions linked to the education and health of Angolans at its most various levels.
