Africa-Press – Angola. The construction of the District Court in the municipality of Muconda is among the priorities of the Government of Lunda Sul for the current year, announced this Thursday, Governor Daniel Neto.
The information was given by the governor at the opening of the 3rd annual meeting to assess the activities carried out by the PGR in the provinces of Lunda Sul, Lunda Norte and Moxico.
At the meeting, which takes place in the city of Saurimo (Lunda Sul), Daniel Neto also pointed out among the priorities the construction of the multipurpose building of the Military Court.
The strategy also provides for the building of municipal and provincial delegations of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in Lunda Sul.
At the meeting that ended on Friday, the governor of Lunda Sul stated that the bet was aimed at giving greater dignity and strengthening the justice administration sector in the province.
Daniel Neto underlined that the discussion about the justice system has entered the political agenda of the vast majority of the country and is receiving more and more attention from citizens, creating social expectations in relation to crime control.
He pointed out matters related to the role of the guarantee judge in preparatory instruction, challenges of criminal investigation in the light of the new structure of preparatory instruction, investigation and the law of defendants, as being a matter of high relevance.
He considered it necessary for specialists and scholars in these matters to emphasize the deepening of relations between the institutions of the justice system.
For Daniel Neto, analyzes and discussions should be centered on broader issues, concerning the reinforcement of experiences of joint action, as well as the facilitating role of political power, within the framework of the legislative reform underway in the country.
Participating in the meeting are the Sub-Attorneys General of the Republic of the provinces of the East region, military prosecutors and the coordinator of the East Region.
The meeting will present, among other documents, the balance sheet reports, the 2023 activity plan.
The meeting takes place under the motto “Procedural progress in the preparatory instruction”.
