Africa-Press – Angola. Ten national and foreign language clubs were created this Saturday, in Uíge province, in order to bring together speakers of various languages ​​in these associations.

On the initiative of the Provincial Education Office of Uíge, national language clubs include Kikongo, Kimbundu and Umbundu, while foreign language clubs include Portuguese, English and French.

The language clubs will operate, in a first phase, in secondary schools, colleges and institutes in the municipality of Uíge province.

Speaking at the official opening of these clubs, the director of the Provincial Education Office of Uíge, Pasi Mafuta Nova, explained that the initiative aims to create spaces for interaction in different national and foreign languages, allowing the sharing of knowledge in different languages.

According to the official, the national and foreign language clubs also aim to reactivate the use and taste of different languages ​​by the citizens of the province.

He recognized that it was an arduous task, aiming to give a new dynamic to the teaching and learning process.

For this reason, he advised teachers and school administrators to be dynamic in the language teaching process, applying appropriate methods to facilitate learning.

In turn, the head of the Department of Culture, Historical Heritage and Traditional Communities, Pedro Cenas Dissungua, highlighted the importance of national and foreign languages ​​in commercial exchanges, preservation of the habits and customs of peoples, as well as in the transmission of scientific knowledge.

The official opening act of the language clubs was attended by teachers, students, public managers, traditional authorities and staff from the Civil Protection and Fire Service and other guests.
